Imagine this: you are driving to your grandma's house for the weekend and you see a homeless person on the side of the road. You see that that person only has one pair of clothes, and to make matters worse, they have children. This subject is very important in human daily life because lots of people in this world don't have any clothes. Many Americans and people in this world have tons of clothes, but compared to those who don't have anything and are living in poverty, this is something that many people in this world deal with.
When I first heard in my class that there was an extra credit service project to help your community, I thought, "Wow, that would be a great idea to help out my community and serve others and not just care about myself." So, I went to work and started out with the first part of the project. The packet I had received from my teacher for the first part of my project was just to answer some questions about service project ideas to help me out on what I should do for my service project. After that, I had done all of my planning. My project was to collect clothes and donate them to Hope's Community Closet over at Temecula. I had then gathered all of the clothes that I had and relatives had that were donations and put them in bags and put the in my Mom's car and set off to Hope's Community Closet. When we finally found the Hope's Community Closet in Temecula (which was a little hard to find since the navigation kept saying you have arrived but we didn't know that we were there) but saw that we had to schedule an appointment, but no one was even over there since they were closed. We were a bit disappointed by that but saw that there was drop-off box in front of the building. So, I dropped off all of the donations I had and donated them to the Hope's Community Closet. As we left the Hope's Community Closet, I felt a happiness rush over me. When I had done that good thing to help those children and families who don't have clothes who really need them more than I do, my feelings of serving others was more than I had had in the beginning when I had first started out my whole project and started planning it to get to the point where I was to accomplish my goal. Now that I had done a service project, I now know that accomplishing your goal isn't more than just accomplishing it, but doing what is right for others and being happy and grateful for what you have done and also grateful that we all have more than what others have and to say thank you to those who care for us and brought us along this painful but successful path without living in poverty like others around the world. In the end, my feelings about serving others was a successful goal with a very planned out plan and determination to achieve it. As Mother Teresa had once said, "We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty." So, if you think you can achieve it, achieve it SUCCESSFULLY! Q= Question A= Answer
1. Q: What were your initial thoughts about the way women are treated in India when their husbands die? A: My thoughts on this was that women in India are bring treated unfairly and should have more respect than being called "bad luck" and are having to be very poor when they were once very rich. 2. Q: How would you feel if your mother was a widow or if you were a widow and you lived in a community that practiced this treatment of widows? A: Abram (also known as Abraham) Abraham was born about 2000 B.C.E and died at around 1950 B.C.E. The years of his existence is inapplicable. A summary of his life and the legacy he left behind is that Abraham was the father of the Hebrews who believed in only one God. In the Torah, it states that one day, God asked him to make a sacrifice of his son Isaac. Abraham dearly loved his son, but his devotion to God was so complete that he brought his son Isaac to a mountain to be sacrificed. At the last minute, God sent an angel to stop Abraham from killing his son. Abraham proved his faith and obedience, and God renewed the promise to him. Upcoming funeral information:
Abraham is buried in the Cave of the Patriarchs, also known as the Sanctuary of Abraham. Family members left behind: Spouses: 1. Sarah 2. Hagar 3. Keturah Children: 1. Ishmael 2. Isaac 3. Zimran 4. Jokshan 5. Medan 6. Midian 7. Ishbak 8. Shuah Based on my opinion, I think that Pharaoh Ramses ii was the most successful of all the four leaders (Pharaoh Khufu, Pharaoh Senusret i , Pharaoh Hatshepsut and Pharaoh Ramses ii).
Fact #1: Egyptian Hieroglyphics are developed. Fact #2: Assyrians (from Meso) invaded Egypt, kick out Kushites (mid 650s). Fact #3: Hebrew temple destroyed by Romans. |
