1) Question: How was writing on clay different than paper and pencil?
My Answer: Writing on clay is different than paper and pencil because first of all, clay is a lot different than paper. In addition, when you are writing on clay, you are using a stylus, not a pencil. A pencil uses led and a stylus doesn't. 2) Question: After writing your message, do you think being a scribe was difficult? Why? My Answer: Based on my opinion, I think that being a scribe was difficult because there is more complexity into writing in cuneiform. 3) Question: What were some of the things scribes would record? My Answer: Some of the things that scribes would record is that they would record every time people bought something from them such as wheat and other grains from crops. In addition, they also recorded when they recorded people's taxes. 4) Question: What are some similar jobs today? My Answer: Some similar jobs today are the government who collect and keep track of our taxes and cash registers that keep track of everything that we buy. 5) Question: What purpose does writing serve in our lives today? My Answer: Some examples are writing letters to other people, writing essays for school and writing notes in school. 6) Question: What would society be like today without a system of writing? (discuss advantages and disadvantages) My Answer: If society today didn't have a writing system, we would have to just have to talk to each other. Some disadvantages it would have on today's society is that we would have no letters, no books, no way of taking notes, etc. For advantages, there wouldn't be any because without writing, we wouldn't be able to do a lot of things such as no letters and no books. 7) Question: Do you think writing will develop any further? Why? My Answer: I don't think that writing will develop any further because our writing is developed enough. In addition, we have a more developed writing system than back when they had cuneiform. Showcased Response: In Social Studies, I had first learned about what social studies is. Social Studies is the study of people and how they interact with one another. In addition, I have also learned about the early hominids who came a long time before us. Lastly, I learned about the Paleolithic and Neolithic stone age. The Paleolithic were from the old stone age who hunted and gathered to find food and the Neolithic were from the new stone age who created agriculture for food.
